Arrowfield Apartments can pre-book activities and packages for you in the Queenstown-Lakes region at the time of reservation.  Alternatively they can be booked on arrival, however it is strongly recommended to pre-book to avoid disappointment.

Historic Arrowtown

  • Explore the quaint historical settlement of Arrowtown, with it’s rich gold-rush history dating back to the 1860s.  Take a walk through the old gold miners Chinese Village, visit the Museum or take a 4WD tour to other historic sites such as Macetown, Skippers Canyon and the old Gaol.  Or why not try some gold panning yourself!
  • Enjoy one of the many fantastic cafes, bars or restaurants for brunch, lunch or dinner.  Alternatively browse through some of the lovely boutique shops, or visit Dorothy Browns boutique cinema & bar screening a good selection of both contemporary and arthouse films – complete with huge comfy seats, wine and cheeseboard if you wish.

Local walks

  • There is an extensive range of walking trails around Arrowtown for all abilities and fitness levels.  The banks of the Arrow River provide a more leisurely stroll on well formed tracks, or alternatively the many hills above Arrowtown provide more challenging terrain and magnificent views of the Wakatipu basin.  Walking maps are available from Reception.

Mountain Biking & Cycling

  • Arrowtown is an excellent place to base yourself for a cycling holiday.  The Queenstown-Lakes area is fast becoming a mountain biking mecca, for cross-country and downhill bikers alike.  With a 110km network of dedicated cyle trails throughout the Wakatipu region you can explore a multitude of areas off-road for days on end.  And with an abundance of quiet rural roads at your doorstep you can get out on your road bike for hours on end, or for the hill climbers you can always tackle the Crown Range or Coronet Peak Roads.  For the adrenaline junkies you can even do a Heli-Bike.

Golf

  • The region is blessed with internationally reknowned golf courses.  Right here in Arrowtown we have The Hills(home of the NZ Open tournament), Millbrook Golf Resort and Arrowtown Golf Course.  Nearby there is also Kelvin Heights Golf Course and Jacks Point, both excellent courses with stunning views.  And within an hours drive you could even try courses in Wanaka, Cromwell or Alexandra.

Skiing

  • Arrowtown is a spectacular alpine ski village within easy distance of Coronet Peak, The Remarkables and Cardrona skifields.  Coronet Peak is a short 20 minute drive away and it’s fantastic skiing ensures it is a great skifield for learners and advanced skiiers alike. For ski and snow board hire we recommend ref.snopro.co.nz/arrowfield – ski gear delivered to your door and fitted in the comfort of your own apartment.

Wineries

  • Central Otago is the most southerly grape-growing region in the world, with a well established international reputation for Pinot Noir.  The Gibbston Valley has numerous vineyards on the slopes and terraces above the dramatic Kawarau Gorge and is the perfect backdrop for a leisurely lunch or wine-tastings at one of the many vineyards.

Queenstown

  • Queenstown is a short 15 minute drive away so you can easily experience all there is to offer from the peace and tranquility of Arrowtown including jetboating, white-water rafting, bungy jumping, sky diving and much much more!
